DIVISION STANDARDS

To ensure you are placing yourself in the right category that is challenging but still fun, these guides are to help you decide what category you should be in.

Elite Individuals & Teams

The Elite divisions for Individuals and Teams are programmed for competitive athletes who generally finish in the top 500 in the OPEN within their region.

Proficient at all CrossFit style movements including Muscle Ups, GHD Sit Ups, Pistol Squats, Handstand Push Ups, Handstand Walking etc.

Females

Female weights will be 50kg+ overhead, and over 80kg deadlifts for reps.

Males

Male weights will be 70kg+ overhead, and over 110kg deadlifts for reps.

Intermediate Teams

Gymnastics Movements you won’t see in the intermediate category: Ring & Bar Muscle-ups, Handstand Push-ups, Handstand Walking

Gymnastics Movements you may see in the intermediate category: Pull-ups, Toes-to-Bar, Wall Walks, Rope Climbs

If you finished in the top 500 in the Open, you probably shouldn’t be on an intermediate team unless your other team members are at a lower fitness level than you. If two or three team members can do the gymnastics movements you won’t see, you most likely shouldn’t be in the Intermediate category.

EDIT: If you finished in the top 500 in the Open, you shouldn’t be on an intermediate team. This category is created for those who are entering the competition scene and are limited in their skill and loading.
We are wanting to offer a pathway to becoming better, and a platform to give everyone a fair playing field.

Females | Teams of 3

Barbell loading won’t exceed 50kg overhead for reps. Overhead barbell loading will range from 25kg to 50kg.

Males | Teams of 3

Barbell loading won’t exceed 70kg overhead for reps. Overhead barbell loading will range from 35kg to 70kg.

From there the top 8 athletes in each age and gender will be invited to compete at the DUC23 in Wollongong.

Athletes can expect to be tested across all areas of fitness and skill, with consideration made to their age and gender as you would expect in the CrossFit OPEN & Semi-Finals workouts.

Adaptive

The DUC23 is excited to have adaptive athletes back again for this year's event. More details on the category classification and athlete details will be released shortly.

Athletes competing in multiple divisions

Athletes are allowed to compete in multiple divisions, and where the workouts are the same can submit one result.

However, to compete in more than one division, athletes must register for each independently in the online qualifiers.

Once the online qualifiers have closed and the final leaderboard is confirmed, athletes must choose their division to compete in the final.

Team Requirements

• Each athlete must be registered on the team roster.
• Each athlete can complete the DUCQ workouts individually and in different locations.
• The team manager must submit all workout scores for each athlete in the DUCQ.
• The team manager must submit video links of all performances in the DUCQ.
• Teams may substitute one athlete but must ensure two of the original three team members remain on the team roster for the entire season.
